Never Mind was the name of a book i had read for the month for April. It was about a girl named Meg and her twin brother Edward. They do not geat along at all. Their mother calls them night and day. It all starts when Meg wants to get into the high achievers club at her new school. Edward does not want that to happen. He is not  very smart so having Meg get into the club would not be good for him.

When the most popular girl in school, Kimberly, calls Meg, Edward answers the phone. Kimberly does not know about Megs brother so she asks a lot of questions about him to Meg. Meg didn’t want anybody to know that she had a loser twin so she made a lot of stuff  up about him. She said that he went to a music school and that he was in a really cool band and that his name
was Ted.Kimberly was having a party that weekend and asked Ted/Edward and his band would play there. Meg told her that they would be there. Later she tried to think up an excuse for why the band could not play. Edward had been listening to their conversation the whole time.

Kimberly had called again later asking to speak to Ted/Edward. She was so excited that they would play at her party. She asked for the bands name and Edward called it Never Mind. He thought that it was the perfect name. He said that him and his band would for sure be at the party. Edward then goes to find himself some band members.

At the party that weekend Meg is nevous because she still doesn’ know what to say until Edward shows up there. She is so surprised and confused. Edward and his band start to put the band stuff together. Then when thats all done they start playing. Everybody thought that they sounded aweful, but somehow they all enjoyed it. The party ended up being really fun. Even Meg enjoyed it. Meg later realized that getting into the club was not that important anymore.

After the party Edward and Meg have a talk and they realize that they don’t mind eachother that much after all. But there is room for improvement.

Using images is a good way for the readers to help understand what you are saying or doing. I think that images improve your blog so much. They improve your blog because people who do not like to read as much understand it better and it makes your blog post stand out a little more.I like using pictures because it helps me and i feel like it makes my blog less boring.

This Easter was really fun. I went to my Grandpas house and I saw some of my cousins. They are really fun to be with. We went to church on Sunday morning and then we went on an Easter egg hunt. We all got a lot of candy to put in our baskets. After that we had a big Easter dinner. There was a lot of food there. My favorite thing there was my aunt’s potato salad…yummy! She is a good cook. We had a lot of different kinds of jelly beans. We bought some nerd jelly beans. They would have to be my favorite. My mom has an addiction to those!!! They are so good. This Easter was quite fun.

My Fathers Dragon

I read this book called my Fathers Dragon. It was a very good book and I think that you would enjoy it a lot. In this book all of the animals can talk. It starts out with a cat that tells this man named Elmer that there is an island called Wild Island that is very dangerous. Nobody that has went there has ever came back because an animal has eaten them or they have gotten lost. It is there that there is a dragon that was descended from the clouds and it was the only one ever. He was getting put to work flying all over the island delivering mail. If he does not obey the orders that the other animals have given him than they will pull the rope that is tied to the dragons neck until he does the job. It hurts the dragon very much. So much that sometimes he almost dies.

Elmer  decides that he wants to go over to that island and save the poor little dragon. So he makes plans to run away from home. He packs a bag of very unusual supplies. Then he sets out on his journey.

He gets there and the first thing that he wants to do is eat, so he picks a tangerine off a tree. Then as he is walking he runs into seven very hungry tigers. They say that nobody has ever survived this island before and that  they are going to eat him. He goes into his bag of stuff and pulls out some chewing gum. All smart people know that tigers love chewing gum. When they start chewing he sets off once more.

Then he runs into rhinoceros. The rhinoceros lives in a weeping pool. He is sad because his tusk is so dirty. When he finds Elmer there he tries to drown him. But smart little Elmer goes into his bag and pulls out a toothbrush and toothpaste. The rhinoceros is so thankful and Elmer keeps walking.

Then he runs into lion and he was going to eat him for his supper. He is a very mad lion because his main has so many knots and tangles and his mother was coming over that night. So Elmer goes into his bag and pulls out a brush and the lion is so happy that he forgets about Elmer.

Elmer meets many more animals in this book and seems to always get away! The last animals that he meets are some alligators. Elmaer needs to get to the other side of a really big river so after he gives the alligators each a lollipop they make a bridge for him to get across.

When he gets to the other side he finds the dragon and cuts all of the ropes off of him. The dragon thanks him and then they both fly off into the world together.

There are three tales of My Father’s Dragon:

1.My Fathers Dragon

2.Elmer and the dragon

3.The Dragons of Blueland

For genius hour Lauren, Anna, and I made a music video to different country songs that were all mixed together as one.

First we went to a farm and video taped ourselves doing a bunch of country things like riding the four-wheeler and horses to feeding the chickens. Then we went back to school and we downloaded everything to the computer. After that we edited things out that we didn’t want in it. Then we added music to it and we were all done.

The final product looks very good and it all turned out well. It is a very cool video and I had a lot of fun:)

Frindle

This month  i am reading a book called Frindle. It is about a boy named Nick Allan who invents a new work.I like this book a lot because it shows that having imagination can lead to many things.

It all starts out when nick goes to fifth grade. His teacher is Mrs. Granger. She is a very strict person who loves….the dictionary!  Then one day when she was teaching she said that a word is a word because we say so. Then later that day when Nick and his friend were walking home nick saw a pen lying on the ground. Then he showed it to his friend instead of saying”pen” he said “frindle”. It was his new word. a while after that everybody in school was using his new word. Mrs. Granger was not happy about this. She said that anybody who used this word would have to stay after school and write sentences about correct grammar. The kids at school never stopped using the word. Then it tuned into a war between Nick Allan vs. Mrs.Granger. When the newspaper found out about this new  word they did a big story on it. That newspaper got out and soon some of the T.V shows heard about it and wanted Nick to come and talk to them. After a lot of months with everything going on it finally started to settle down in his town.

After 10 years while Nick was in college he got a box from Mrs Granger. It was a new dictionary. There was a note on the top telling him to look up the word frindle. So Nick did and he saw right there his word. Nick was very happy.

I like this book a lot because it shows about peoples imaginations. In the future I hope to invent a new word. It will be the grandest word of them all!

The End
